This song was written by Barry Mangione and his online audience during the live web show, Barry On The Spot. Each week the artist and the audience collaborate on a different topic to write a song in 30 minutes. For this show, the inspiration was "Peas." You might be offended by this ode to my favorite greens
But I'm not gonna change my tune just to appease

I like them with pancetta
Or maybe a nice bruschetta
It might sound a little odd
But I even like them in the pod
Peas and carrots
A match made in Heaven
I wish I could buy some at my local Seven Eleven

You don't have to be jolly, giant, or green
To appreciate peas and all they mean
Ho ho ho, just visualize whirled peas

They'll make you smile
But they won't make you toot
Because they are a vegetable
Not a magic fruit
