The topics were illegal immigration and legalization of marijuana. The song was written within 30 minutes, and it's sung from the perspective of a rich conservative who worked hard to kick illegal immigrants out of the country, and now he's depressed because he's got no one to do his manual labor for him. He's so depressed, in fact, that he wishes marijuana were legal so he could light one up and forget his troubles. This song is satirical in nature, and does not advocate the use of illegal drugs.
